Department of Civil Engineering was started in the year 2005. The department of Civil Engineering has highly qualified, committed and research oriented faculty members in various specialization. Staff & Students of our department has received awards and recognition from Industries/Professional Societies towards research and innovation in teaching and learning process. The Department has excellent infrastructure facilities with the state - of - art and advanced equipments in the Laboratories, Computer centre with latest Drafting, Analysis and Design software and Internet facilities. The department offers B.E.Degree in Civil Engineering and M.E. Degree in Construction Engineering and Management. It is maintaining excellent interaction with industrial experts in all fields. It has an active Industry Institute partnership with professional societies such as ISTE, IEI and ACCE to interact with industries.
The department Placement cell conducts various placement activities such as mock interview, refresher courses on subjects relevant to the industrial requirements, certified value added training on latest software like RIVET Architecture , MS Project, Primavera, Open Source GIS etc., at the department level. The department actively involves in Research activities and industrial consultancy works with various firms and industries in and around the city.

Civil Engineering Department has spacious class rooms with LCD Projectors, Department library to meet the demands of the construction industry, Research and Development
Civil Engineering Department has signed MoU with ACCE (I), Madurai for conducting the Student Mentor Programme, to motivate the students on ideals of profession and to add exposure on technological advancements
The Department organizes National Conference titled "Recent Advancements in Civil Engineering-RACE" every year since 2009

Engineering Graduates will be able to:
Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineeringfundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

LABORATORY DETAILS
Department of Civil Engineering has Nine spacious laboratories, each provided with modern and sophisticated equipments to meet the curriculum requirements.

With these equipments, students can be well trained on the preparation of plans, maps and study of topography of the site. This laboratory includes three phases of practices. Surveying I & II provides knowledge of equipment and practices and survey camp provides advanced techniques and orientation on project works.
