:: Engineering Practices Lab
The EP Lab provides exposure to the students with hands - on various basic engineering practices and
demonstrations in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics Engineering as listed below:
- In Civil Section :
Wood works and plumbing works - Practices; Door Panel, Industrial trusses - study.
- In Mechanical Section :
Arc and gas welding, simple turning & drilling – Cetrifugal pump, Airconditioner, smithy, foundry -study.
- In Electrical Section :
Basic household wiring, tube light and stair case light wiring – Practices; Ironbox, fan, emergency lamp - study.
- In Electronics Section :
Various Electronics component assembly and testing Practices; Telephone, F.M. radio – study.

Carpentry

Related tools |
8 work stations are available to carryout the carpentry exercises with carpentry vice. A tool box containing the carpentry tools like Jackplane, steel rule, Handsaw, Famer Chisel, Marking gauge, ‘C ‘clamp, Number Punch, are available between the workstations. A set of five power tools are available in carpentry section. They are planer machine, circular saw, jig saw, Rotary hammer, Demolition hammer for the demonstration purpose. |

12 work stations are available to carryout the plumbing exercises with plumbing vice. A tool box containing the plumbing tools like pipe cutter, Die set, Pipe wrench, Spanner, Hacksaw frame with blade are available in each workstations. The adequate space is available between the workstations. |

12 work stations are available to carryout the sheet metal exercises with vice. A tool box containing the sheet metal tools like snips, ball peen hammer, scriber, steel rule, mallet are available in each work stations. One anvil is available for bending the work pieces. A Set of five tools is available in Fitting section. They are scriber, files, caliber, divider, Try square for demonstration purpose. |

8 work stations are available to carry out the Electrical exercises. The Electrical Equipments and tools are, ammeter, voltmeter, wattmeter, stopwatch, Rheostat , variac single phase auto transformer, screw driver, cutting plier, Insulation Tester, are available in each work stations. A set of two Power tools are available in electrical section. They are Digital live wire detector, Range finder for the demonstration purpose. |

8 work stations are available to carryout the electronics exercises. The electronics Equipments are audio frequency oscillator, ammeter, Voltmeter, soldering Iron, Digital multimeter, wire cutter, De-soldering Iron, Nipper are available in each workstation. |

A set of 19 tools are available in smithy and foundry section. They are, showel, trowel, spruepin, strike off bar, Lifter, Gate cutter, Runner , Riser, Vent rod, Tongs, Anvil, Sieve, Rammers, Swage block, sledge hammer, Flatters, Black Smith furnace, Moulding box, mallet, Swab, Solid pattern, Split pattern for the demonstration purpose. |

:: Drawing Practices Lab
The training in Mechanical Engineering to the first year students pertains to Engineering Drawing and Graphics, which includes orthographic projections of simple solids, developments of surface of solid, sections and isometric projections. It also includes Civil Drawings like plan, elevation, etc. Computer Aided Drafting commands (Auto CAD) are demonstrated. The drawing hall is provided with 60 drawing tables, for 60 students to work at a time.
