This Department is successfully going on under the guidance of Prof. V.Srinivasa Raman who holds a Master degree in Thermal Engineering and submitted the Ph.D thesis. Our department consists of one assistant professor and five lecturers, four lab- assistants and two lab attenders. The Engineering Practices lab is being successfully handled for first year students whose objective is to improve student’s basic practical knowledge in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and Civil engineering. Engineering Graphics is taught by using prototype models. The subjects like Engineering Mechanics, Thermal Engineering, Fluid Mechanics, principles of management and total quality management are also being taught by our staff members for senior students.

Engineering Graphics

• To develop the student’s graphic skills for communication of concepts, ideas and design of engineering products and expose them to existing national standards related to technical drawings.
• Two drawing halls are available with 60 drawing tables in each hall to conduct the engineering drawing classes.
• To achieve the above said goal the engineering graphics classes are handled by efficient staff members and very good results are achieved so for.
• 97% result has been achieved in the examination conducted by Trichy Anna University during January 2009.
• Staff members have been sent to attend the faculty development programme conducted by Anna University Chennai in this subject.
• The classes are taken with solid models for the solids like prism, pyramid, cylinder and cone to draw the projections, cut sections and development of the surfaces of solids.
• The isometric and orthographic projections are being taught with the solid models of various simple components.
