Electronics Lab 1

Electronics Lab I is equiped with equipments like Dual trace Oscilloscope, Function generators, Regulated power supplies, Digital voltmeter, Ammeter, Multimeter, Dual meter, etc. to carryout experiments like multivibrators, Oscillators, Amplifiers, Transistor Characteristics etc. on Electronic Circuits & Electronic Devices lab. At a time 32 studens can do work.

Electronics lab provides the platform to understand the basic practical concepts of electronics and electronic devices .This lab is well equipped with instruments like Dual trace CRO, Function generator, Regulated power supplies, Digital voltmeters, multimeters, etc in the specified and required ranges. Software like ORCAD software is available for the simulation of electronic circuits .

Electronics & Communication Lab
This lab is well equipped with major equipments like cathode ray oscilloscope, Signal generators, Function generators and various ranges of power supplies and electronic components. Latest advance equipments are available in this lab are programmable logic controller and process controlled timer which is used for designing circuits.

Electronics Lab II is well equipped with both Hardware and Software. Hardware consists of various equipments like CROs, Signal Generators , Regulated Power Supplies to carry out the Electronic Devices and Circuits experiments. This lab provides Digital IC Trainer kits for the digital lab experiments. Xilinx with Model Sim, the latest VLSI software tool is very useful for doing Student-Projects. The advanced equipments such as Programmable Logic Controller and Process Control Timer are available to design the electronic circuits.

Communication Lab

Analog and digital modulation techniques using AM transmitter and receiver, FM transmistter and receiver kit , ASK, PSK, FSK, Time Division Multiplexing, Frequency Division Multiplexing kits simulation using MATLAB and ORCAD.

The process of transferring information from one point to another point is called Communication. It can be done effectively by implementing technique such as Analog & Digital modulation schemes. To demonstrate modulation techniques, the communication lab is well equipped with amplitude, frequency, phase modulation kits and Amplitude Shift Keying, Frequency Shift Keying kits and CROs. Spectrum Analyzer are available to analyze the signals during communication process.

RADIO FREQUENCY (RF) LAB

RF Lab is equipped with equipments like Spectrum analyzer ( 500 MHz.) Dual Trace CRO (100 MHz) RF Generator (1 GHz.) , RF Detector ( 1 GHz.) and antena system etc. to carry out experiments like RF Filters, RF Oscillators, RF Amplifiers and antenna Radiation Pattern measurement etc.

Radio Frequency, lies in the range within which radio waves are transmitted, (3 – 300GHz). When an RF current is supplied to an antenna, an electromagnetic field is created that then is able to propagate through space. Many wireless technologies are based on RF field propagation. The RF lab is well equipped with RF components such as RF source, RF detector, antenna kit, transmitter-receiver stepper motor controller to demonstrate RF link in practical situation. The nature of the RF signal in the link is analyzed, in time and frequency domains by 100 MHz CRO, spectrum analyzer. Students are also encouraged to do mini projects in the area of RF by using the facilities in the lab.

DIGITAL SIGNAL PROCESSING (DSP) LAB

Digital Signal Processing Lab is equipped with 15 pentium III systems with server and processors like TMS320C50, TMS320C30, TMS320C5416, 6711 Code Composer Studio and the experiments are conducted as per the Anna University Syllabus. The software such as MATLAB 7.0 R12, Software tool boxes such as signal processing , filter design, Communcation, Control system Simulink and ORCAD Software with PSPICE, LAYOUT, CAPTURE(1 User)

Digital signal processing laboratory is equipped with modern equipments to do practicals pertaining to simulation in various fields of signal processing. The students get trained to solve technical problems in real time implementation. DSP lab has high computing facilities like Texas instruments fixed and floating point .Digital signal processors which are used for real time implementations. Latest software like Matlab Rel.1.4, ORCAD are used for simulation. Both real time & simulation are done using 20 Pentium IV systems and 18 Lenovo systems with backup facilities.

MICROPROCESSOR LAB

Microprocessor Lab is well equipped with instruments like microprocessor kits - 8085,8086; Micro controller kit- 8031,8051, Interfacing Devices - ADC,DAC,Stepper motor controller, Temperature controller, Traffic light Controller,PC based controller-DC servo motor, Temperature controller, Traffic light controller,PC based controller- DC servomotor ,Temperature controller, LVDT position controller, ....etc to carry out experiments on microproccessor lab.

The laboratory is equipped with various equipments like Temperature controller, Traffic Light controller, Hard disk controller, Floppy disk controller, A.C. & D.C. Motor controller, Keyboard & Display controller, DMA, Students can perform various interfacing operations with these equipments using Microprocessor, Microcontroller and PC programming. Students are trained to get advance programming knowledge on 8085, 8086 microprocessor and 8031, 8051 Micro controller trainer kits. Also, Students are encouraged to do PC Based, Microprocessor Based, Microcontroller Based Mini projects.

MICROWAVE & OPTICAL COMMUNICATION LAB

This lab provides opportunity for the students to enhance their knowledge in the field of microwave & Optical Communication systems. The lab is fully equipped with X-band setup, J-band setup, Gunn setup, Tees, Directional coupler, VSWR meter, Slotted line section, Radiation turn table, Advance fiber optic kit, Laser kit, Video link trainer kit, Fault locator. The lab facilitates students to have a through knowledge of waveguides, microwave transmission & reception, voice, data transmission through the optical fibre.
8 Department Library Our ECE department has 170 books in various areas of Electronics and Communication Engineering.
